And I’m sure that had something to do with where we were at the time, and still many places in the world where there are no rights you have to still hide-so there is a sense of desperation and loneliness and emptiness when you go to these places. “Every time I would go to a gay bar, a women’s bar somewhere, I left feeling very lonely… empty. We are so honored to have the enthusiastic support of Café Tabac alum Patricia Velasquez-humanitarian, actress, author and supermodel-who will be joining us for the second year in a row as host committee to our #Back2Tabac NYC GAY PRIDE fundraiser event on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22nd, 2016 at the JANE HOTEL! Like last year’s most-talked about event, thanks in part to her efforts, we expect this year to be another sold-out smash hit! The fundraiser is to benefit the documentary feature film “ Sundays at Café Tabac” where Patricia also shared with us a moving account of why Café Tabac of the early ’90s was not only beautiful and unforgettable, but important to her as a young woman in molding self-confidence, self-esteem and the freedom to be who she is…
